Table settings and vignettes have always been, should I say, “my thing.” I have always been fascinated with grouping things together. Whether they match or not has never really mattered to me. I have placed crystal next iron pieces and wood next to glass, branches, rocks, and fabrics. As a young teen, I would collect perfume bottles and decanters to set them on top of my newly polished dresser table. I loved things placed and styled just as I viewed them in my mind.
Here, I have created two Christmas/Holiday table settings, one for a small space that is dining for two or three in your living space and one kitchen/dining setting. I have gathered leaves, pine cones, and plants from the outdoors and brought them in for all to enjoy. The fragrances of the season, mulling spices of dried orange, herbs, flowers and various spices cooking on a stove top, or essential oils of the forest such as pine and evergreen all speak one language….it’s a time of celebration with loved ones, family and friends. Bring out your heirloom trinkets, old photos, and Christmas cards and decorations that are all part of your life story and set them on plates, hang them on the tree or spread them on your table. This is what makes each table setting unique, personal, and memorable. Enjoy setting a table that is uniquely you!
