Homemade Flour Tortillas

With all this time at home, the silver lining is that we have the opportunity to make our favorite foods from scratch. This recipe makes one batch– approx. 5 tortillas– enjoy!

Ingredients:
1 cup wheat flour (I like Bob’s Red Mill unbleached white all-purpose flour)
1/8-1/4 tsp baking powder (more makes puffier)
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp virgin olive oil
A little less than 1/4 cup lukewarm water – if the dough feels dry during kneading, lightly wet your hands to introduce a little more water.

Directions:
1. Mix it all, add oil last
2. Use wheat flour on surface you are rolling tortillas on
Make BB8’s (squeeze our little spheres of dough from the big one)
3. Roll them out with rolling pin (they don’t have to be perfectly round)
4. Fast first flip, then second flip until you start seeing tiny bubbles, then third flip to finish and off – store stacked in a folded clean cotton kitchen towel
