One of my many passions is staging and event planning. I had the privilege of planning an Urban Garden Baby Shower for my daughter Lauren. Nature set the stage for rustic tables, adorned by centerpieces of succulents in wooden boxes and clay pots. Cane chairs were used and individual umbrellas for each table. A backdrop, 8 by 8 foot, of boxwood and balloon arrangement was used as a perfect photo op set. The backdrop also held a single branch hanging

There is nothing like natural ornaments in concert with the blooming buds of fruit trees and blueberry bushes ready to share their jewels of deep blue. Next to this arrangement sits a large farm table with a fruit container underneath as its base. This table held the many gifts for Baby Eddison along with a vintage typewriter announcing her name. Simple, real plants, foliage, vegetable garden and a cabana full of edible flowers set the stage for desserts set on vintage carts and multi-level cake stands.
All in all, it was a beautiful day for an urban garden party. Set your own stage using what you have in your garden. Use garden tools, old hinges, birdcages, old scales, glass domes, a vintage ice chest to set drinks on ice. All make perfect sets for staging your beautiful garden.
